Birthday Cards Turn Me To Mush

Is it just me or does anyone else turn into a big ball of mush over birthday cards? Seriously, my husband laughs at me when I open cards because he knows that at least one card will make me cry. I also cry during the Hallmark commercials, but that's a different story. Anyway, my parents didn't disappoint and sent me a card that sent me into tears after reading just the first few lines. I thought I'd share this gem of a card with you because it's just that special...

"FROM BOTH OF US, Daughter ~
Where Did Our Little Girl Go?

It's truly amazing...
how one day you're gazing
deep into the eyes
of your sweet baby girl ~
Then next thing you know,
she's a fun, spunky toddler
with teddy bear dreams
and a lace tu-tu twirl.

Before very long,
she starts having friends over
to play, stay for dinner,
and share all her toys.
And just when you think
life is settling down,
here come classes and homework
and crushes on boys.

It's truly amazing...
the phases she goes through,
the wonders she shows you,
the way she matures...
The magic and mystery
she'll always possess,
the pride she elicits,
the love that endures.

You share her adventures,
her trials and triumphs,
delight in her dreams,
and make memories that last...
And know in your heart
that your life has been blessed
by one sweet little girl
who grew up much too fast."

(Hallmark ~ because you care to send the very best.)

Seriously, who wouldn't cry if they received this card? Thanks Mom and Dad for the beautiful words you chose in this card. I love you guys!

Before having children myself, cards like this seemed "silly" to me. Now though, yeah, I get teary eyed too. :) I think it's good that we can be sentimental in our "later" years. ;)

I couldn't find your email to reply to your comment about how my photo did, so I'm replying here.

The contest isn't over until December 2nd, but I'm WAY behind. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. :)

Kimberly ~ yes, having children definately makes a person more sentimental. Even though the card was sent to me all I could think about was my little girl as I read it. Not the response my parents were expecting, I'm sure. ;)

Glenna ~ Thanks!
