This has gone on long enough! Violet has been sick now for nearly a full month with a yucky nose and a terrible cough. We're tired of wiping her nose and, most importantly, Violet's tired of us wiping her nose. It just seems like we're fighting a never ending battle here. It's a vicious cycle that doesn't want to quit.
Gregg and I had a glimmer of hope on Saturday that Violet was getting better. Her cough lessened some and her nose dried up a little. The hope was short lived though. Violet's nose and cough kicked back up in full force before the day came to an end. Drats!
I guess we're going to have to go back to the doctor... AGAIN! I wouldn't necessarily go back to the doctor just for a runny nose and cough, except her cough keeps waking her up when she's sleeping. A sleep deprived toddler is no fun to be around... trust me on this one! Thankfully, with the exception of her being tired more often, Violet's temperament hasn't changed too much. She's still a very happy little girl for the most part. It's only when she's super tired that Violet gets a little cranky and crazy. By crazy I mean that she's running around the living room spinning in circles and then wears a path in the carpet by running back and forth until she collapses. It's quite entertaining for us, her parents, but it can't be a good thing that she's doing that.
So far, neither Gregg nor I have gotten sick. I have no idea how that hasn't happened. You would assume that we'd get sick after having been coughed in the face so much, after all the nose wiping, and other assorted nasty details that I won't get into. All I can say is, "Thank You, Lord, for keeping us healthy while we take care of our precious little girl!" Still, if you think about it, keep us and Violet in your prayers. Violet and I are dying for some time outside. At least the weather has been cooler so that I can crack our back door to let some fresh air into the house.
