I love IKEA. I seriously love it! Where else can you go and buy a lamp, shade and bulbs for less than $30.oo? I've yet to find somewhere that can meet their prices unless you are either shopping at a garage sale or a re-sale shop, both of which are great! But if you're anything like me, it's hard making it to a garage sale early enough to get the good stuff. I've been fortunate enough with Freecycle but I seem to be slow on the take when it comes to getting what I really want, like a nice toy chest for Violet's room.

I don't know about you but sometimes I have a vision of something I want for the house and then get terribly frustrated when I can't find it. That, or when I DO find what I've been looking for it's out of my price range. It took me forever to find some storage boxes that were nice enough to leave out in the open, on top of a hutch, to store my daughter's many craft items and papers. I found exactly what I was looking for at our local IKEA store. And the best part is that I paid less than $9.oo for two pretty boxes!!! You can't beat that.

While messing around online I found this awesome site. I'm not surprised that a site has been developed just for ideas of hacking IKEA products. It's actually sheer genius! I am eager to put some of the hack/ideas to use.

I particularly like this hack. Gregg and I need a storage system for our ever growing assortment of cd's. Also, Violet's dvd's basically take up a full shelf on our lone bookcase. Honestly, Violet doesn't watch TV 24/7, we just have a huge assortment of dvds for her to choose from!

When I saw this hack for dvd and cd storage I immediately knew that I wanted to do a similar project for our home. Hopefully, Gregg and I will be able to get the Hopen Dresser with his next bonus and turn it into our own version of a cd and dvd storage unit. The only thing better than doing this project would be to get the dresser for free. Hmmm, now that's something I could post of Freecycle. Sweet!

I love your new blog design. It looks great. We don't have an Ikea near, but my MIL loves the place.

Thanks Jen! It took me forever but I finally figured out how to change the design. Ikea is great and you can always get a catalog sent to you. I don't know about you but I'm addicted to catalogs! ;~)
