Oh how I long for this year to be over and the new one to start. Or, I long for a fresh start to the year in regards to my family's health. 2008 has not been kind to us. This has been a year of testing for the three of us and I'm ready for the test to be over.

Violet has had some terrible drainage going on the past few days. That means she's had a terrible cough to go along with it. And, just like her parents, she has a loud cough that will make you cringe each time you hear it. Neither Gregg nor I have a gentle cough. Now, personify that into a little kid and you should get the idea.

Violet is not the only one feeling lousy at the moment. My whole body aches and I feel as if I've been put through a wringer, all the result of a fever that is just barely there and determined to hang on. It feels as if my brain is in a constant fog right now. Like my friend Jenni, I have put my heating pad to use. It is a welcome comfort for when the chills hit and something I shrug off when they break. But I must agree with Jenni that...
Having to use a heating pad during a Houston summer is just wrong.
(Jenni is having different issues than I am but I still feel her pain. Hang in there Jenni! We're praying for you.)

So sorry you're not feeling well. Nothing worse than bad colds and sinus during the last hot awful days of summer. (I sort of relate. This is my last round with obnoxious allergies before winter and I'm eating Sudaphed like candy. )

Hang in there. Make some of my chicken soup--it will cure what ails you--or at least make your tummy feel better while your head drains.

Your chicken soup looks Yummy!!! I hope you get to feeling better soon too! Tylenol & Zyertic have been my best friends right lately. Benadryl is being given to our daughter through an IV ;~) (I kid).

Thanks for visiting my blog. You've got some wonderful recipies that I want to try so I'll def. be back at your site.
