I am very fortunate to have the relationship I have with my Mom. We've always been close but we have grown closer over the years. And even though she's my Mom, she's also my friend! A girl can't ask for anything better than that.
I had the best time ever with my Mom when she came down a few weeks ago. At times we laughed so hard I was brought to tears. That right there folks is an incredible feeling! Shared laughter and enjoying one another's company is a blessing in any relationship, but in a relationship with a parent it is a gift from God. And, because I know that not everyone has this, I realize just how precious this gift really is.

I am going to pay dearly for sharing this photo with you lovely folks but I just had to put this in here. Sorry Mom! But now you can see, at least in part, why we had so much fun when Mom came down for her visit. Also, just so you know, this photo was taken at Amy's Ice Cream shop, after the fiasco with Miss GPS and driving around in Houston rush hour traffic. Which really explains why Mom was acting silly in this photo. Hmmm, maybe she did have the Bourbon Chocolate Walnut ice cream after all!
